    Recommend a visit
Enjoyed the lecture about the of the temple and its history. We could not enter the synagogue due to Covid restrictions, but got to peek inside and take photos. We also took a guided walk through the town while a lady explained the history of the city and the Jewish community. The guide was very knowledgeable and it was an enjoyable walk.

If you are interested in religious freedom
If you are interested in American Jewish history, this site is a must. Touro Synagogue is the oldest surviving U. S. synagogue building. Because of COVID, small tour groups sit outside and hear a talk about the synagogue. The tour guide opens the doors of the building so tourists can take a peek, but aren't allowed inside. There's also an interesting exhibit about the history of the synagogue in the visitors center. Also, tout guide Linda was especially skilled.
