A Day At This Fine Museum
It’s been a while since we last visited this museum. So we returned, and were pleasantly surprised that it has grown tremendously in size and scope. The Buddha statue is still there. But there are new exhibits we don’t normally see regularly in museums, such as the well-preserved Roman sarcophagus exhibits. Also, they have an extensive exhibition of Impressionist art. Even the Pendleton House exhibits are worth seeing, as they feature numerous examples of early American paintings. We spent the better part of the day at this museum. Highly recommended.

worth a generous visit
the museum is a hodge-podge of buildings and can be difficult for people with disabilities to manage, but the elevators work and all the areas are accessible. this is a very significant collection, worth a deviation of a journey to see. very strong in American decorative arts, some fine impressionist paintings. much art from RISD alumni/ae. nice museum store, but it is across the street and on the far side of the store -- the side on main st has the art supplies.
