Providence Performing Arts Center

It is a very very old fashioned place. Nothing modern about it which I guess is the good part. I saw how the Grinch stole christmas. I think its good to take families because its such a different experience watching the live performance than a movie theater. Drinks and snacks overpriced but aren't they everywhere? I would recommend this place.

    Great venue for any performance
The Providence Performing Arts Center is a masterpiece. Well kept old school it has great sight lines from almost every seat. Was there for the Harry Potter Prisoner of Azkaban with the movie and RI symphony playing the soundtrack. Was exceptional.

Wonderful Selection of Musicals, Beautiful Theater
I always enjoy visiting PPAC for a show. We went to see My Fair Lady in May 2022, bringing it full circle back to when I first came here to see My Fair Lady many years ago. The Licnoln Center production was top-notch and the alternate matinee cast was just as good as you would expect from the regular cast. We clapped loudly for Col. Pickering, a native Rhode Islander. I walked upstairs to use the ladies' room and get a closer look at the theater. It's still gorgeous but close-up, it looks a bit shabby. Still, you can see the gorgeous movie palace this once was. Last time I was here was for Doors Open RI in January 2020 bfore COVID arrived. I was happy to tell my theater companion about my tour to the projection room and waiting behind the curtain to peer backstage. That made watching the show extra special because I had been a small part of that magic for a brief moment in time.
