Overpriced
Foreigners pay 25 times the price of locals (5000 kyats vs 200 kyats). Not much to see here. Badly maintained, Indifferent staff. Nothing much to do in Sittwe, so perhaps worth a visit to fight the inevitable boredom. Badly displayed items with signs in bad English. Must leave bags in a locker near the door. Barely worth 200 kyats, much less 5000.

How museums shouldn't be
We visited as we were curious about Rakhine culture. The place wad emptynon a Saturday afternoon, we were the only 2 guests. The museum is terribly old fashioned. The usual dressed puppets and faded pictures. Limited information. All in all very dull.

British Remnant
Some interesting exhibits - costumes, musical instruments,but dusty and not well displayed, with only basic English. Got the feeling that the whole museum had not been revamped since the Brits left. Entrance fee for foreigners now 5000kyats (5$) for foreigners. Good research library for locals.
