Wollaston Beach, Massachusetts, United States

3.5 (29 reviews) Spent Ranking #8 in Quincy Beaches

From coarse to rocky.

I went here for a walk along the beach. Beautiful views but the 4 lane road running parallel to the beach and the walk way is disturbing. The beach as such ranging from coarse to rocky. The water quality in early August do have a high bacteria count, probably a good idea to check on the web if you are heading here for a swim.

Nice beach but narrow and along a major road
Wollaston is a nice enough beach with its own pros and cons. Pros are that it is sandy and a long strip that you can walk down. Because of its location by a road, their are several places to eat or drink right across the road. Cons are that it is noisy being right next to a major road. Their are also no public facilities that I found. All in all I'd suggest this maybe for a walk and less for just relaxing at the beach

    THE LARGEST OF QUINCY’S BEACHES
Wollaston Beach is a public beach located along a 2+ mile stretch of Quincy Shore Drive in the Wollaston section of Quincy. It is on the Quincy Bay section of Boston Harbor. It is one of several beaches in Quincy. It is the largest. The others are small neighborhood beaches. There are free parking spaces all along Quincy Shore Drive overlooking the beach. Although not a soft white sand beach, it’s good for sunbathing, swimming, and picnicking. There are many restaurants across from the beach on Quincy Shore Drive. The most famous is The Clam Box. Years ago when I lived on the South Shore of Massachusetts, I frequented this beach. My most recent visit was during July 4th week vacation while visiting and staying with a friend for several days. It wasn’t overly crowded. Thanks to the Friends of Wollaston Beach, the beach and water were clean. I rate Wollaston Beach at 3.50. If you found this review helpful, please click THANK below.
