United First Parish Church (also known as The Church of the Presidents) has a rich history in both the social and religious community. The church was built in 1828 of local Quincy granite and is now designated as a National Historic Landmark. The Church is the fourth building for the 380 year-old First Parish Congregation, and is the burial place of presidents John Adams and John Quincy Adams and their wives Abigail Adams and Louisa Catherine Adams.

Presidential Visit
A great visit to the resting place of two U.S presidents and two First Ladies. I visited the church and attended a guided tour of the site that talked about the physical structure of the church, and was followed by a tour of the crypt where John Adams is buried. It was a fun experience right off of the Quincy Center train stop on the MBTA. If you’re in Boston and looking for something off the beaten path to visit, definitely stop by!

Resting Places of Presidents
After or before you visit the Adams National Park you want to walk across the street to visit this, Church. John and Abigail Adams and John Quincy and Louisa Adams are buried in the crypt. Originally the crypt was not opened to the public but now it is. They have a guided tour where the guide tells a little bit about the history of the church and shows you the Adams family pew before taking you down into the crypt.
