Easily accessible on main east west Sherbrooke St, yet a quiet oasis in Westmount park. Excellent collection, reading areas and wonderful helpful staff. Fine kids area.

The Pause that Refreshes
The heart of Westmount is a jewel - a small conservatory and greenhouse (at Easter the plants are magnificent and the bunnies cute), a community center (Victoria Hall) with occasional concerts, and the Westmount Public Library. Founded in 1897 and completely renovated in 1995, this is a wonderful place to spend an hour or two: Victorian architecture with a modern finesse. The magazine and newspaper selection is excellent. Special collections include an extensive collection of old postcards. There is a superb kids section, and of course extensive books and reference sections. Just walking in, makes one calmer. Our family favourite!
My son loves to read, I have been bringing him to the library since he was 6 months old. Beautifully run, great assortment of books for all ages, well maintained, very clean. We are so happy to live 3 blocks from this public library.
