Marfield Lake, Province of Munster, Ireland

4.5 (58 reviews) Spent Ranking #2 in County Tipperary Bodies of Water

A lovely walk

This is a beautiful man made lake that is teeming with wild life. A must for any bird lover. If you just want somewhere peaceful to walk with the family and feed the ducks it ticks that box too. The roadway is a public road but is one way and is fairly quiet. The lake is located a short walk from the historic Marfield village which is also very picturesque

    Marlfield Lake - Bird Sanctuary
It is a small bird sanctuary near Clonmel. A nice place to go to feed the ducks and swans. There are all sorts of birds frequenting this lake which is an artificial lake built to power a mill many centuries ago.

    Swan Lake
A lovely amenity that is a man made lake that was made for holding water for hydro-electric generation pre ESB. The lake is lovingly tended to by the people of Marlfield village. The birds on the lake are fed by the children and adults from miles around. The only problem I have is the lack of speed ramps whic allows people to use the road as a "rat run".
