    Great castle and museum!
We thoroughly enjoyed our visit to King John’s Castle and its great museum. A wonderful guide in period costume led us through the museum, giving us great insight into the history of the castle and, indeed, the history of Ireland. With reference to the museum’s exhibits, the guide introduced us to the castle’s place in that history. Finally, he described the ancient castle and grounds, then set us out to explore them on our own. If you’re up to the challenge of tight, winding stone steps to the castle’s towers, the views from the top will more than compensate. This was a great centerpiece to our day in Limerick and a must see for any visitor to that fair city.

    A fantastic museum experience
If you're a museum family, this is an absolute must-do! We have traveled all over Ireland to various museums, piecing together Irish history, but nowhere put it together as comprehensively as King John's museum. On top of that, the way the museum presents it makes you feel like you are experiencing it on some level. They've done an amazing job bringing the castle to life and telling the story of what happened here. We really loved this experience and highly recommend for visitors who are interested in history.
