A cute experience for all ages
I liked Bunratty folk park! It was fun to walk through the park and see the different houses through time. I do have some suggestions for the park though. I was really looking forward to learning more about the different time periods of Ireland’s history and was hoping that there would be park employees stationed throughout the park that could speak to it. I think having that would really add to the experience. In addition, I wish there was a little walking tour that could take you through the park while also giving you fun facts about the different structures. Colonial Williamsburg is a great example of a living history museum done well and I think bunratty could benefit a lot from incorporating some more interactive experiences. Overall I enjoyed my time here- it was a nice peaceful half day during my vacation. It took me about 3 hours to do the whole park, so if you’re staying for the banquet in the evening I recommend spending the morning elsewhere and entering the park around 2pm to maximize your time and experiences.

All good!
I usually don't rate "tourist trap" type places high, but this is sooooo well done. The gift shop is nice, we bought souvenirs there, nice stuff. The village was actually really fun, well put together, and we actually learned a few things. When we entered the castle, we were not disappointed. There were a couple areas that were gated off but I really think it was very accessible. My kids liked seeing the dungeon, I was impressed with the carved wood furniture featuring a carving of the last supper, and my wife was dazzled by the original tapestries that are hundreds of years old. We climbed all over the castle including up on the roof, it is truly beautiful. Well worth the cost. We didn't go to dinner, but it looked like the dinner in the castle would be a blast too!
