    More Than a Beautiful Campus
This is a fascinating and very educational place to visit. Paid time slots are required to visit the exhibit of the Book of Kells, Ireland’s most prized illuminated manuscript. The Library of Trinity College is an awe inspiring example of a building with grand architecture and shelves of books that tower two stories high.

Do It For the Long Room
We booked the full tour of the College with the Book of Kells about 2 weeks prior to our trip. I am glad that I did because it filled up very quickly. The tour of the College itself was very entertaining and the student who gave the tour was very knowledgeable. Next they walk you to the Library where the Book of Kells is displayed. I was there with three teenagers who were not that interested in the historical exhibits, but they were well done and I would liked to have read more before seeing the Book of Kells. The museum was really quite crowded so it was hard to spend a lot of time there. As others have stated, you only see a few pages of the Book on display, but it is still a good stop. The best part for my family was the Long Room in the Library- it was remarkable and has a very Harry Potter feel. The shop at the end is loaded with souvenirs, but be forewarned that things run small. My daughter bought a sweatshirt and it is weirdly small on the forearms even though the bodice fits fine. I bought a t-shirt in a size bigger than usual, and it still is a little snug, so I would recommend trying the clothes on over your shirt just to get an idea of the sizing. We bought other clothes in Ireland and did not have this problem anywhere else.
