Gorgeous, massive gardens and scenery, skip the waterfall
These grounds are amazing and vast. I felt like a Leprechaun was going to pop out at any minute and dance a jig. Please explore ALL the gardens have to offer. Really enjoyed our lunch at the outdoor cafe overlooking the grounds. Skip the waterfall. Billed as the largest in Ireland, it is pricey to just drive in and park and was super crowded and packed with young teens just hanging out.

A photographer's dream come true but expensive
Powerscourt House and Gardens have been on my bucket list for many a year and I am pleased to say I wasn't disappointed. The gardens and grounds are a joy to behold and beautifully maintained. I particularly enjoyed the Japanese Garden section. I could have easily spent half a day here especially in the glorious sunshine we were lucky enough to have. It is a photographer's dream come true. Only negative was the expense of it all. €25 for a small 2 course meal to be served cold chicken and three small portions of salad! The dessert of strawberry frangipane was delicious but the price of it left a bitter after-taste. Being able to sit outside and admire the view of the gardens whilst eating was fantastic but I imagine on colder/wetter days, paying that amount to sit in the characterless canteen style restaurant would have put a dampener on the experience especially when entry to the gardens is a further €11. Rip-off Ireland?
