Lovely day out

My daughter & I went to see MOSI and it was a lovely day out. We were there a full hour admiring the style from Audrey Hepburn, Grace Kelly, Princess Diana to name just a few. There's an exhibition of Betty White's outfits at the moment and that was dazzling too. We finished with a lovely lunch at Domo's Emporium and a look at the Christmas Shop! Well worth a day out.

    Pleasant surprise...
Had always been meaning to go and check this place out....finally got round to it. I was pleasantly surprised I have to say....we caught the end of Audrey Hepburn exhibit. It’s not a particularly huge museum...but it’s done quite nicely...has a lovely atmosphere and just enough information, so you are not reading forever!!! You are also left to go around what ever way you wish in your own time. Took us about an hour. The only downside was that they had a video constantly running about Audrey Hepburn with her talking and singing etc...and it was a bit distracting when you were reading about Marilyn Monroe exhibit right beside it or letters in the cabinets. Was bit annoying. It was really nice though to see some great pieces from Monroe, Hepburn, Diana, Grace Kelly, Rita Hayworth, Beatles, Michael Jackson, Elvis , Elizabeth Taylor...to name but a few. But I have to say I was very disappointed when walking around these fabulous pieces to stumble across “The Kardashian’s” clothes !!!! I thought this was AWFUL!!!! I actually laughed when I saw them. They just don’t SUIT in the middle of all this history! So wrong. Maybe a small separate little “pop culture\modern day” section would be better on its own. Just really took the special feeling away looking at them....really???? Apart from them, there really are some fab pieces. The building itself is not very appealing...in an industrial estate warehouse type building. I understand it’s a factory....but seemed a bit weird going in to view some beautiful iconic pieces in such a place. But it’s definetly worth a visit. The shop was nice.....I’m not that big of a fan of Newbridge, but they had plenty of choice if you are. We had lunch in restaurant....very weird decor! Was nice but felt they were trying to be like Avoca but not quite there. Was nice though all the same. The staff are very friendly in this establishment I have to say , from all areas. Very helpful and smiley....so a thumbs up for the staff also. Worth a visit for sure.
