Fantastic
Well what can I say! I found the Irish military war museum online ages ago while online but never got to go. I recently met a friend of mine and we got talking about the museum and how he went and said it was worth a visit. Well ‘worth a visit’ was an understatement. This place is fantastic and amazing, it was fun , exciting and educational. I went with my wife ,daughter, son and my daughters boyfriend, and everyone had a great time. I have never seen such a collection of historical war artefacts before and it puts the national museums in second place. We learned lots and were actually aloud to hold and touch some of the displays. You can even take a tank ride or learn how to drive a tank. I mean , come on !!! Schools should bring their students here , anyone studying history in college should come here, actually anyone with a bit of interest in history , war or military equipment this museum is a must. After we had our visit I learned that museum is in danger of closing due to high insurance and rates costs. If this fantastic museum closes we are in danger of depriving everyone of a great learning experience. It must stay open. I can’t say enough about the staff , welcoming , friendly and very very knowledgable.

Exceptional and unmissable.
An absolutely brilliant way to spend a few hours!! My sons and I are all very interested in military history and this was a real treat. The fact that this is a privately amassed collection is simply staggering and therefore even more exceptional that the owner lets visitors actually handle some of the weapons! I strongly recommend anyone interested in history and weapons to pay this museum a visit. For those of us who are slightly obsessive about weapons there are some real gems. For us the display of AKs including a Bulgarian variant, and an AK74U, were of particular interest. There are of course plenty of the old favourites from both World Wars. I have to say again the fact that this is a private collection is so impressive!!
