Awesome Beach !

Stayed here in January 2020 at the Playa Samara Hotel which is at the south end of the beach. We walked to the Town of Samara which is approx. a 30 minute walk. The beach is very quiet. The water near the south end is calmer due to a reef out front. There is surfing at the north end of the beach closer to town. Lots of wildlife in the area. Pelicans were constantly diving in the water. We walked this at night and felt very safe. There is not a lot of anything between the town and the south end where our hotel was located. horses are seen running on the beach at night. Fishing boats moored in several locations. The best sunsets!

    Wide spaces and beautiful view
Samara Bay is so wide that it's hard to imagine it getting crowded. There's a great deal of beach space for sunbathing and having fun. It's quickly accessible from town and a couple other entrances to the sides. The only downside is that it's not ideal to see the sunset because it faces slightly to the south, but you can drive a bit north for other beaches that do have a perfect view.

Beach sand had dirt, probably due to the rains, didn’t notice it as much during the dryer days of our trip. Reefs block heavy waves, but waves still very good for surfing and body surfing. ‘Gold zone’ of beach id not very long and easily walked in minutes with several good beach restaurants. The beach is in a wide cove, lots of washed ip shell pieces in areas and the right end has tide pools, which visitors explore and snorkle during low tides. The left end had an island nearby that visitors can visit with kayaks. The beach has horseback rides, surf shops/lessons, also with paddleboards and boogie board rentals. Our surfing lessons were at Tikos with Pablo, $100/couple, we enjoyed the lesson and Pablo as sn instructor.
