Rio Celeste Fee Pool

We did not go into the Tenorio National Park. However, we visited the free pool and it was tremendous ! Simply put "Rio Celeste Fee Pool" into your GPS and you will find it. Right underneath a bridge is a beautiful river and a blue color lake that you can swim in. It is a bit chilly but sooooo worth it. It was one of the most beautiful things we saw in Costa Rica. We felt like we got a great benefit of the unique blue water without the time, effort and expense of going into the park. When we visited there were 2 or 3 people there, so we pretty much had it to ourselves. We went in late November just after a couple days of rain and were afraid the water would be muddy. Nope !! Striking blue water. Highly recommend.

Cool phenomenon (weather impacts ur experience)
We were socked in by rain the 4 days in Bijagua but wanted to see Rio Celeste. Worth it but some tips if it's raining... It's SO worth the $4/2k colones to rent rubber boots at the stand outside the entrance (you can leave your shoes there)! The trail gets muddy, has steep sections, is narrow and when it rains at least your feet will stay dry and you can just stomp through the mud. I developed a new found appreciation for my rain ponchos (with hood to keep my glasses dry-ish)! Be prepared for lots of other people also interested in seeing the area. You're not supposed to bring in single-use plastic items (CR law to reduce littering and damage to the park) so be prepared for a pretty basic bag check at the start. If it has been raining a lot and is a grey day the colors won't be as brilliant as on a sunny drier day. Still worth going but set your expectations and simply enjoy getting to see the waterfall, small bubbling thermal section, the river change from clear to blue at the end of the trail), and getting some exercise. May require saying Pura Vida to yourself (and any family members) a few times. The drive is pretty hilly and gets slick though well paved but we were glad to have someone driving us there and back (didn't have a rental car so didn't really have another option anyway). It's an out and back trail, which took us 2 hours but without stopping much since it was raining the entire time.

    Great hike
Rio Celeste National Park hike was a great and enjoyable one with great views of the waterfall and lake. The blue water was spectacular to look at and great pictures to take. Our guide, Mau(Mauricio), was tremendous and he was very knowledgeable of the flora and fauna. Alex, our driver , was also great. The tour operator was Desafio. Great and timely folks
