Wonderful wildlife experience
Our boat tour was the highlight of our fun filled trip to Costa Rica. Our guides were very knowledgeable and our boat captain was a wonderful driver who was able to maneuver us close to get a good view of the animals. We saw many crocodiles, a troupe of white faced capuchins, howler monkeys, several species of heron, several species of iguana, a king fisher, a pelican, a scarlet McCaw and a few other birds. Before starting the tour we gathered at their restaurant where we were offered coffee and juice. We did not stay for lunch afterwards but this is an option.

Half day nature activity from Tamarindo
Voucher says Tamarindo Explorer. Three of us went from Tamarindo for a half day adventure, leaving at 730am. Drive 1.5 hour maybe more back and forth. Part of the drive on rutted roads. The actual river estuary was beautiful. The boat took us down, up and back. Stopped along the way to show off various animals — various birds, crocks, iguanas, white faced monkeys, even some bats. After we stopped for lunch at a local rancho. Ok local food. Learned of pottery and sugar cane growing. Nice activity overall.

Excellent Family Run Boat Tour
Excellent trip on the Tempisque River with a friendly but professional family run business. The moment you arrive you are made to feel welcome and appreciated. Coffee is offered along with homemade dragon fruit juice. A member of the family provides you with the history of the tour and their involvement in it. To arrive at the river, you follow the guide to the boat launch and the fun begins! Crocodiles, heron, bats, iguanas and monkeys abound. We learned about the natural balance of the species in the river and were amazed by all of the creatures we observed! It was both delightful and interesting! After the ride, you return to the Palo Verde Family Building and get served a delicious fresh lunch with homemade juices and a lovely dragon fruit ice. We loved this tour and the family who run it. Highly recommend for a true experience of the river!
