Beautiful water. Be careful when renting a kayak.
A beautiful lagoon made up of brilliant blues and rocky cliffs.

BEST Beach on Island - Must Visit
The Chalk Sound was our favorite beach to visit even more so than crowded Grace Bay. The water is breathtakingly beautiful and calm. You can walk 20 feet or more out from shore and the turquoise water is just clear You can snorkel but the water is so clear and tranquil that the fish are visibly swimming around you. Screensaver perfect beach. TIPS Bring your own chairs, cooler and umbrella. Umbrella rental was 20USD and chair rental 10USD each Jet Ski rental 30 minutes 90USD or 1 hour 175USD Parking is free but limited, come early Chalkies Restaurant is the perfect way to end your day. We had one of our BEST meals there.

If you are looking to relax, but also an adventure, this is for you....
Husband and I visited here during our 25th anniversary trip to T&C. We rented kayaks from the Neptune Villas and had a great experience. Did not reserve in advance and had no problems. The girl at the desk is extremely nice and helpful. We rented and were uncertain how long we'd be out so we just started paddling and went pretty far pretty fast. We were looking for ways to keep active on our vacation and this was a great way to do so. We are both athletic so it wasn't hard at all to paddle even though we were told that there were strong currents (which we didn't notice much). If you are not as strong, I'd advise staying close by if the currents are too much. The girl does tell you, at check in, that you are charged $100 if they need to recover the kayak so be sure to only paddle as far as you can handle. Water is about 6 feet deep in most spots and even less in others, but the sand is very sticky and feels like concrete so I don't recommend getting out of the kayak. We saw no fish in the water so we don't think it was a good place to snorkel. Great experience but after an hour we saw about all we could. We were the ONLY people on the sound which was so relaxing. If I did it again, would only do an hour.
