    Interesting
This tour shows the extravagance of the Catholic Church when the Vatican was located in Avignon. The tour is significantly enhanced by the iPhone like sound guides. Sadly there were no real instructions and you had to figure it out as you went along. The guide besides proving audio information, showed re enactments of how the Palais looked when it was being used as the Vatican. Many of the artifacts only have french descriptions which is disappointing for some one not fluent in french. That said, with the audio guide, the tour was very informative and interesting. Note that you can save a few dollars by coupling the entrance fee with the Pont D'Avignon.

If you only do one thing in Avignon...
Impressive historical site, plenty to see, tour took us around 90 minutes with the tablet guide which acts as an audio guide plus allows you to view the interiors as they were. Some were faulty so check before you set off. Beware the left luggage - you exit (through the shop..) at the back of the palace, need to go back round to the front entrance (hold onto your ticket) to retrieve bags.. at which point they expect you to exit through the shop again. You can buy a ticket that takes you on the bridge also, or don't bother and simply walk up to the top of the park adjoining the palace for a great view
