Visit to Vieux port at Marseille
La Vieux port is the central place at Mersailles. Tourist should visit here all day of their travel....one would find all season food , mix varieties....& also lot of desserts. Boating is a must go from Port to either Chateau d'if or frioul It's approx 11-12 euro per head.

A great assortment of shops and restaurants
The Old Port is literally just that! The quais are loaded with restaurants of all sorts, but this is a seaside city and your best bet would be a fresh fish meal. Marseille is noted for one dish in particular: bouillabaisse (fish stew). You will find the prices for this dish to vary from about 70 Euros per person to 24 Euros depending on the individual restaurant and what kind of seafood they used to make it! It's all very tasty!

Nice port to walk around - enjoy late afternoon sun
We came to the port a couple of afternoons to enjoy the late afternoon sun & walk. It is busy and main area to catch boats/ buses are near by too. Tourist buses & petit train also runs from one side of the port so it can get congested. We were lucky enough to have the French market running one day which was great to walk around & experience. Some nice cafes & restaurants either side - we only had a drink as pretty pricey and were told food was average! Area is a little dirty in parts - especially water with litter in it. Be prepared to avoid the dog waste which is on a lot of streets in Marseille and not always cleaned up!
