A great viewpoint
Trsat Castle represents a strategically embossed gazebo on a hill 138 meters above sea level that dominates Rijeka. As a parochial centre it was mentioned for the first time in 1288. Trsat Castle is one of the oldest fortifications on the Croatian Coast, where the characteristics of the early medieval town construction have been preserved. Today Trsat Castle, beside the Bazilisk souvenir shop and the Gradina coffee bar, is enriched with new facilities – gallery space where art exhibitions are held as well as open-air summer concerts and theatre performances as well as fashion shows and Literary evenings. Great Views of Rijeka
The highlight of out tour of Rijeka was a visit to 13th-century Trsat Castle, affording stunning views of Rijeka and Kvarner Bay. Built by the Frankopan dukes of Krk and originally used as a watchtower, it was renovated in 1824 by an Irish count in a neo-Classical, Biedermeier design. It was a nice castle but did not really compare to the places we visited in Greece or elsewhere in Croatia,

A must-see!
A must-see in Rijeka! If you can catch a concert or an event on the Trsat Castle you're gonna have an amazing time. The view is also great and would recommend. Its not very large tho and not a lot to see.
