    A pure slice of heaven.
Finaly some reviews of this wonderful beach. To correct however, it is called Kandarola, and it is on the Suha Punta peninsula away from Rab Town, not in Palit suburb! which requires a taxi boat from the harbour or a bus or car ride. We were in Rab for four days in June as a kind of recce trip from Rovinj. This was our first time in Rab, very much the road less travelled insofar as the British go and thank goodness for that. As anywhere the British gather in large numbers, so do all day breakfast places and pubs. The town is small but charming, with typical VenetoCroat architecture, the modern shopping centre near the bus station is awful sadly but you won't have to see that more than once. We had an idyllic little attic apartment right in the old town, which was very La Boheme. I think we were a source of fascination to the landlady as not many British pass that way but she spoke English surprisingly well! On to the beach which is where naturism started in Adriatic, ironically enough by Edward 8th on his cruise with Mrs Simpson in 1936. The taxi boat left every hour from 9am from the harbour, the total cost is 45 kuna, 15 each way to get there and 15 kuna for beach admission. It is about 15 minutes. From the jetty at the main beach it is a short walk along a paved walkway, passing the grill restaurant on the right. The main beach area is ahead of you with sunbeds to rent, at 15 kuna each. They are needed, as it is very large pebbles. There are plenty of showers and also toilets at the back of the beach. Also toilets at the restaurant. There is a beach bar at the back of the beach with seating and tables. You do not need to dress for that, but you need to slip something on for the restaurant. We didn't go there, as we took picnics but we did enjoy drinks at the beach bar several times and what a perfectly beautiful spot and outlook, naked in the sun while gazing out at the bay. Idyllic. The swimming is fantastic, (always better sense nude)! with the largest fish I have seen so close to the surface. It was a ritual mid afternoon for people to take bread and feed them, quite extraordinary to see huge shoals come so close. There are paved sunbathing areas to the left and right of the main bay. Loking out at sea, if you walk back past the restaurant round to the left, there are two more beach areas with a large grassy area at the back but your own beach equipment is required here. There is a man at the end of the path in a booth to take 15 kuna fom people coming down from the Suha Punta complex. Going the other way, if you walk to the right from the main bay, again there is a man taking 15 kuna. The path going round to the right there clearly goes back to the tourist complexes but if you take the woodland path to the left there is no problem walking nude through that side. You wil come across a lot of little bays used by quite a few people and eventually a clear outlook over to the Hotel Carolina on the next peninsula. We spent three perfect days here. Not long enough. It is very German with a sprinkling of Italian. On the second day we were getting Danke Schon from the regulars so they decided we were harmless. Several families with children there enjoying the sun in perfect innocence. A totally wonderful place, just what naturism is about. Anybody who would still have a problem with naturism after paying a visit here has a very big problem with life.

My favourite beach in the world
We have been coming to Kandariola FKK beach for years, always by driving and walking. This year we had our own boat wich was powerful enough to get here easily from where we stay. We just moored outside the bouys and then swam to shore, towing our litttle boy and some towels etc on an inflatable tube. It was magical. We did this on several days. Can't wait to get back next summer.
