Ethnographic exceeds expextations
We stopped for a short visit here. Moscenice is the old, original town on the hill. It was too dangerous to live near the water. Moscenicka Draga (draga=bay) is the newer town on the water. The museum shows how people lived a couple hundred years ago. The highlight is the olive oil press located a few yards away. Stairs and uneven cobblestones.

A Step Back in Time
Sitting on top of a hill, this small little village is a must see. The Old City, its olive oil press, its museum and it's beautiful church take the visitor back to a much more simpler time. Hundreds of years to be exact. The Old City with a population on some 120 full time residents is worth the trip "up the mountain". If possible, take a. Tour with a local guide who can share with you the remarkable history of this Old City.

A great view of the past
This is a very unique museum. It's nothing like the giant drafty museums we have in the States. You get to see what people wore and what they did like any other museum, but this one is just so much more intimate to, not only the region, but the city in which it's housed. I think if you're going to visit somewhere you can't just base your ideas on the cuisine and activities alone. A museum like this is a great way to bathe in the culture of your host.
