Impressive

The Lendava Synagogue is one of the three synagogues still remaining in Slovenia. The Lendava Synagogue (built in 1866) functions as a historical monument and a cultural centre. Since 2013 it hosts also the Slovenian Holocaust Museum with a permanent exhibition on Jews in the Prekmurje region. Opening hours: Monday - Sunday: 10.00 - 14.00

    Old fashioned museum
Sinagoga (synagogue) is best museum about history of Jew minority in Slovenia. Another synagogue in Maribor has older and more interesting architecture interior in Lendava is more authentic. The exhibition in Lendava is very careful description with rare documents and artefacts about holocaust, mainly about Jews from Prekmurje. Tragic story. Entrance fee is low. Presentation is in ground floor and balcony. Explanations are in Hungarian and Slovene. Special leaflets are also in English.

    Highly inappropriate
The synagogue is well maintained and the exhibition seems interesting, but explanations are only in Slovenian and Hungarian. This is frustrating for most tourists who can’t understand these languages but can understand English. I strongly advise the municipality to offer explanations in English - this is hardly a major undertaking.
