Pranburi Forest Park, Prachuap Khiri Khan Province, Thailand

4.5 (263 reviews) Spent Ranking #1 in Pranburi Forests

Beautiful walk full with nature

The park is very nice set on a wooden walking way throughout the forest! There are plenty of parking slots available by entrance. Include toilet area! On half way walk - Close to the river you can call the office for a boat. They will pick you up in 5 min. A privat boat will drive you around for 1 hour for TBH500 and will Bring you back to the same spot. Beautiful and very safe! I suggest do the walk when it’s not hot, it’s all outdoor! We went in October, a perfect weather!

Do it all - boat trip, mangrove forest, beach, coconut ice cream/coconut cores
The five star rating is based on both checking out the forest AND taking the boat trip. The boats operate whenever there is enough water (high enough tide, etc). The boat trip costs 500 Baht, is accessible from the middle of the mangrove forest path, and is totally worth it to see the fishing village, nature, etc. BEST if you have a Thai speaker with you, to translate the insights from the boat captain. You'll be taking your own boat, for 1-6 people. 40 minutes total for the boat ride. After you visit the mangrove forest and boat trip, be sure to visit the beach across the road. Also be sure to have some coconut ice cream or coconut cores (is that the right term - its the flesh and water, after the owner cuts off the hard outer part - something I've rarely seen elsewhere), from the coffee shop next to the beach.

Beautiful natural spot with unique features!
The Pran Buri Forest Park is a nice hidden gem. The 1-km boardwalk through the mangrove forest is very well maintained, and has lots of interpretive signs (unfortunately, mostly in Thai only). There is a neat watch tower that affords great views of the area. Loads of small mud crabs and birds to enjoy. We highly recommend the 45-minute boat trip (leaving from about halfway around the boardwalk. It takes visitors along the mangrove-lined streams and out to the main Pran Buri River, where people can see dozens of fishing boats of various sizes and interesting riverside life. Cost is 450 baht per boat, but may be a bit flexible (we ended up giving more, to help out the operators who are currently struggling due to the the pandemic absence of visitors). This place was the highlight of our visit to Pran Buri.
