Monsoon Valley Vineyard, Prachuap Khiri Khan Province, Thailand

4.0 (1.500 reviews) Monday: 9:00 AM - 8:00 PM Spent Ranking #3 in Hua Hin Wineries & Vineyards

Feb and Mar best time to visit.

Thailand's most well-known vineyard. But it seemed to be a bad time. The season's over so a vineyard tour wasn't going to be purposeful, the famed Sala restaurant was closed for renovations so we settled for lunch at the Farm Bistro. Food was pricey but I supposed that's expected of a vineyard. The best dish for me turned out to be the Garlic Cheese Bread. Had to pay a THB200 per head entrance fee as we drove in, but this could be offset against any spend here (food or retail). Clearly, we spent it all on food.

    Shipping wine
I recently had the opportunity to visit this vineyard and while we enjoyed the wine tasting and lunch (the restaurant overlooks some of the vineyard), there was little, if no help when it came to getting the wine I purchased to where I live (Phuket). I had emailed the office on Xmas eve and still haven’t heard back. While the staff at the restaurant tried to help, they didn’t really have any answers. Apparently I can purchase Monsoon Valley Wines in Phuket, but the staff couldn’t tell me where. Not could they help me with shipping, which I was of course prepared to pay for. I am happy to recommend the restaurant and wines, but it does seem as if the winery is content with the very limited (and it seems very local) distribution. This is a great shame for the industry in Thailand and for my friends in Phuket who would like to be able to access a locally produced product and support Thailand.
