King Mongkut Memorial Park of Science and Technology Waghor, Prachuap Khiri Khan Province, Thailand

4.0 (75 reviews) Spent Ranking #5 in Prachuap Khiri Khan Speciality Museums

Amazing.

Huge statues of former kings of Thailand. Very well maintained and run. No charge to visit. Little buses take you from the Carpark to the statues so good for older people. Worth a visit. Great photo op. Food and drinks available on sight.

    Tired and depressing
Given the name of the place we thought it would be great to visit. Unfortunately it was like a park out of the 70s or 80s. Very old style displays and facilities. Not sure it was worth the visit.

Aquarium ok but sea turtles kept in terrible conditions
We popped in here for a short time as part of a tour. The aquarium was good - interesting local fish including some threatened species, everything looked clean and healthy - until we got to the outdoor tanks where they have four fully grown green sea turtles in a tiny pool with a little bit of sand to climb out onto. The water was clean, but these beautiful, long-lived animals need space - these conditions are torture for them. Hard to understand how the aquarium can get it right in some ways, and so horribly wrong in others. Horrendous to see. : (
