Excellent
What a stunning statue, of the Monk who performed miracles to those who needed. You will need a good hour to walk around this religious park, have some cash to donate and there are some souvenirs. It's free entrance and there is a coffee shop and ATMs. Taxis were not available from there so you would need to pre book one or ask the one who brought you there if they could wait for you. I would recommend to come really early on morning, I was here from 0800hrs so you can avoid crowds and the heat. The statue itself is breathtaking, and so many things to see and do. Highly recommend! I hope my miracle happens.

Took a Grab here...
...from town. Only 200 baht, not too bad. Actually the driver waited an hour for me. It must not be that busy for her to do that. Whatever, this is a major temple in maybe for the whole country. It honors a monk named Luang Pu Thuat from 16th century (around then) and has a huge statue of him that lords over the area. Lots of things going on here. I found a quiet place to sit and meditate for a while. I looked over the grounds. Saw some different things. There might be a cave with some Buddhas in it. I did see a lake in the back with what looks like a large, brand new Buddha complex across it. What else: I don't know. I don't feel like writing right now. On the way back home, I did ask that driver if she had any babies. She showed me a picture of her dog.

Buddhist Temple with a large statue
Just a few minutes away from the sea side town of Hua Hin is The Wat Huay Mongkol and it is home to an extremely large statue of Luang Phor Tuad, a legendary southern Thai monk revered for his enlightenment and ability to perform miracles. Its just 15-20 kilometers away from the city of Hua Hin and is worth a visit during the day time. Surrounding the statue there are a lot of Thai-style pavilion dedicated to the spirits of teak trees, behind which you will see an enormous fallen teak tree believed to have magical powers. Lots of thai worshippers are gathering here and they pray with incense sticks while asking for their wishes to be fulfilled. This is partly a place to understand the animist belief as well. Thais pray here but this large park has also a lake, making it a great place for a lovely afternoon stroll
