Black Mountain Water Park, Prachuap Khiri Khan Province, Thailand

Value for money

We went to the black mountain water park after we were recommended to by a member of staff at our hotel. We were originally going to go to Vana Nava, but with with 2 kids under 10 we knew that there would be a lot of flumes that they would be too small for so opted for here instead. It was ok! The kids had a great time, me and the hubby got a little bit bored though. There aren’t that many water slides but the kids could go on all of the ones they do have. There were no queues at all and the food at the restaurant was reasonably priced. Over all it was nice chilled day, we spent 4 hours here think we would have been pushed to spend anymore time. It was cheap entry compared to Vana Nava at around 1/2 the price (including our taco) We had a nice time, it wasn’t an adrenaline filled day like some might be looking for when going to a water park, I would recommend for family with younger kids.

    Great fun
We were quite surprised by how much we enjoyed. Travelling from the UK found it to be great value for money especially considering you had the lake inflatables too. I thought the helmets were unnecessary but appreciate the effort to make it safe. The slides are fun and the the wave pool was very big waves! Food was reasonable and there was plenty of staff around to make you feel reassured and safe. We also liked the fact there were about twenty families there so no queues at all ! The only thing was I had read that the free shuttle bus picks up from the clock tower, nope, market village. So we had to pay a taxi to take us but it was only 300 baht.

Family of young and teens all catered for
Fun day out with young and teen family group. We were the only people here except for one other group so we basically had the run of the place which was fun; I imagine many people looked at the weather report, which we didn’t, so the first hour was heavy rain but at a water park…so what!? This park was much better for our family group as the six year old was able to go on all but one ride whereas the other water park in hua hin that we visited had a height restriction which excluded him from any slides except for the baby areas. The food was also nicer here. Yes, some of it it looking a bit tired but with covid having a major affect on the tourism industry im sure that there have been more important things to focus on. Would advise strong supervision at all times as while there were staff around, most lifeguard stations were not manned. Thanks for a great day out.
