Super Day

This is the first time we have visited Llangorse Lake and we were very impressed. The receptionist was extremely helpful, detailing what we had to do as we had pre- booked. So we frequented the cafe and nothing was too much trouble, super friendly and very welcoming. Onto the launching of our paddleboards & again very helpful including a map of which parts were out of bounds. Super day, very reasonable prices and friendly, we will be back, thank you.

    Beautiful spot
We booked for 2 weeks during the summer, planning to take our boat and enjoy the lake. Sadly there was an algae bloom so we couldn’t take our boat, but we decided to go camping anyway. We were so glad we did. The campsite is beautifully situated, surrounded by stunning scenery. There is plenty to do in the area even without access to the lake. The facilities are good and clean (hot showers!). The people running the campsite could not have been more friendly or helpful. We enjoyed it so much we’ve booked to go back, and we’re not normally campers! Negative reviews about the algae bloom seem unfair. It’s a rare phenomenon and the campsite did everything they could to warn us of the situation and make sure we had the information we needed.

    Great views ...
There are plenty of activities for those who want to be energetic on the lake ... but we walked the lakeside path which was clearly sign posted. You cross common land, water meadows and bog on this varied walk and can view the local bird life from the hides. The water meadows glowed with bright yellows from the lilies and buttercups, with interspersed purple from the common orchid. Breath-taking. The Black mountains provide the perfect backdrop. Its a shame you can't do a complete circuit round the lake, only half the circumference is accessible, but I didn't complain as the walk back provides a slightly different perspective.
