Interesting little museum reflecting 5 tribes
The statue of Standing Bear was pretty neat. You have to walk a paved trail to get there. The museum had several small rooms with different art for each tribe. One room told the story of Standing Bear and how he went to court to obtain rights for Indians who were not considered people. It was a touching story. The curator there took time to talk to us about Indian culture, which we were a little about. She was very helpful and answered all of our questions. It gave us a greater understanding of what native Americans have been through and what they are going through today. I’m glad we stopped in. The museum was free and took about an hour.

Smaller Museum
You need a good appreciation a south west native American art. The museum is on the smaller size and a lot displayed is art from local artists. There is a very pleasant walking trail the leads to the bronze statue of Standing Bear with areas to stop and read about the seven tribs. In the summer I am sure the area looks alot nicer with trees in bloom , and green grass. Kids wont find this stop much of a adventure. Need to be older to understand Indian history..

another large statue seemingly in the middle of nowhere
I have nothing against Ponca city Oklahoma, but you have to want to travel there if you find yourself in Ponca City OK. We were sightseeing during a recent trip to Oklahoma and decided to make the drive North from Stillwater to Ponca City. While driving in on 177 we noticed this park and statue and made note of it so that we could stop on our way back out of town. After visiting other sites in Ponca City, and it's a short list, we stopped at this park on the way out of town. From the parking lot it's a short walk along the path to the statue and there isn't much else to do in the park other than take a picture of the statue, read a few plaques, and head back out. Unless your kids are into large statues this will not hold their attention for more than five minutes. It is a good place to get out and stretch your legs. Not recommended
