Dirty Water Distillery, Massachusetts, United States

5.0 (11 reviews) Tuesday: Spent 1-2 hours Ranking #26 in Plymouth Distilleries

Try it, You'll Buy it!

The name is dirty, but the place is clean! We walked right in around 3 o'clock on a wintery Saturday afternoon in January. No lines. No waits. We were pleasantly greeted and was able to sample some of the unique cordials and whiskeys at no cost. My favorite was the Cranberry Liquor. We bought a bottle to take home. (I wish I bought more, but we live close by, so I can easily go back.) My husband loved the whiskey. His is gone too!

Ditch the kids at Plymouth Rock and stop in here for something you can enjoy "on the rocks"!
We have been on a mission, searching for horseradish vodka. I did my internet research and found a few brands, but none were available anywhere in Massachusetts. Then, while watching TV one evening I saw a story on the Dirty Water Distillery in Plymouth with a mention of their horseradish vodka (Thanks, Chronicle!). We took a day trip down and found it to be a cool, slightly funky place with several flavors of vodka (chocolate, coffee, vanilla, cucumber, ginger, etc.), a few very nice whiskeys, and a special honey liqueur made from a Latvian recipe. There is a small parking area across the street, and that is important in Plymouth! The young woman who was managing the tasting (Angela) was knowledgeable, funny, and made everything sound tasty. We purchased our horseradish vodka, plus the Velnias, and their special whiskey. Angela had a suggestion about the Velnias (the spiced honey liqueur) that would make it a refreshing summer drink, besides the idea of mixing it with hot cider in the fall. Check this place out if you are in the area, but check their hours first...small place, limited hours.

    Outstanding selection of choices !
This was a recommended stop for us by one of the locals and it was truly a good one!! The distiller is friendly and very informative. The selection of Vodkas, Rum, Gin, Whiskey and Cordials is crazy !! Great flavors and unique tastes. Currently, the tasting was free but that may change soon as they are expanding and along with growing comes more city regulations ! Do stop in here if in town, I'm sure the Pilgrims would have been in here !!
