Amazing architechture
The stone castle is a very unique building and worth visiting. Unbelieveable that the stone castle was built with just stones found in the area. The stone castle is located almost at the top of Pirunvuori hill and by climbing up 300 more meters you reach the top with a very beautiful view over the Rautavesi lake. Be careful: there might be snakes (the Finnish vipera berus snake) on the rocks and stones around the stone castle, especially if it's a hot and sunny day. They usually are afraid of people, but it's wise to mind your steps when strolling around.

Beautiful nature and an amazing stone structure
The summer residency of a local artist built a 100 years ago, the Kivilinna stone castle, is really fascinating architecturally. It is built in a beautiful spot, at the slopes of a tall hill called "the Devil's Mountain", Pirunvuori. The Devil's Mountain is really interesting, its formed by ice age - and from atop the mountain you have amazing views. The climb/walk atop is fairly easy and worth it. The Stone Castle is only open in the summer season - but the place is beautiful all year around - and you can enjoy the unique architecture from outside. PRO TIP: the Devil's Mountain and environs has a lot of attractions these days: the hotel offers camping and vacation cottages, there are sports facilities, a beach, and a "Troll Mountain" nature trail for kids - and a small cafe. You can spend a half a day or even a full day here. PRO TIP 2: wear good/comfortable footwear.
