Juupajoen Rotko, Pirkanmaa, Finland

4.5 (3 reviews) Spent Ranking #2 in Juupajoki Bodies of Water

Beautiful nature, easy access

Juupajoen rotko is a ravine formed by Ice Age. Not very big, but immediately as you ascend the stairs you dive into a quiet, green, beautiful forrest away from cars and people. There is a small brook at the bottom of the ravine, and a short, easy path that takes you over the ravine and up again by the old shoe factory (which houses a small, dusty museum and a café in the summer). There are longer nature trails, but they appeared to have been closed for now, so we did not venture deeper. A short, welcome break from driving, very recommended.
