HISTORICAL QUITO
This museum is in the historic center of Quito, before it was an old hospital, it was the first hospital in the Royal Audience of Quito, it has its own church, it is small and has gold and silver ornaments. The rate is cheap, it is a great museum with rooms dedicated to a pre-colonial life, colonial and when Quito was inhabited by nomadic communities before the Inca empire. Inside the museum there is area dedicated plants and animals. You can see old picture, artworks with stones and cow bones, also armor and old guns. I recommend visited because you learned about much old Quito.

Fascinating - but I hope it can get English translations added soon
This is a lovely building made into a great musuem - don't miss some of the beautiful inlaid flors. We thoroughly enjoyed our visit exploring the building and its displays. I hope that the musuem can partner with a local english language college to get English explanations for the exhibits. There is just too much information for basic Spanish and a Translate app to do it justice. Quito has so much fascinating history, please share it with us non-Spanish speakers!

Beautiful, secluded rooftop gardens
Through the bridge entrance that crosses La Ronda, there is a phenomenal modern exhibit. I believe it rotates, however, when I visited in January 2020 it was an incredible art exhibit speaking to the topic of immigration and migration, both internationally and in relation to Ecuador. There is also a rooftop garden directly above that which is so peaceful and has great views of the city, mountains, and sunset. This was one of my favorite places to go to read and write!
