Knowledgeable place to learn about Chinese in Phuket, but NOT A MUST
If you’re already in Phuket Old Town, you might as well want to drop by this museum and learn about the history of Chinese in Phuket. The museum is alright, but not a must-see place. Theres also entrance free. In case you want to visit sone other museums to learn about Phuket, I heard about Phuket Mining Museum that is also interesting and knowledgeable, but it was under renovation during the period I wanted to visit.

Excellent museum
This museum situated in a historic old school building (complete with the desks and benches like those of my own childhood 70 years ago). The overall theme is the growth of Phuket's Chinese community and the tin mining industry they brought to the city. Sounds heavy but it is well set out, as well as the information on Chinese culture. I was angry about the double pricing - 50 THB for Thais and 200 THB for foreigners. I manage to get a reduction to 120THB because of my pink Thai ID card.

Interesting Museum
Thai Hua Museum is located in old Phuket town and we had visited the same during our sightseeing tour in Phuket. Entrance tickets are priced at 200 baht per person. This museum showcases the life and times of the Chinese who migrated to Phuket and how the Chinese contributed to the development of the island. It also highlight contribution to the local culture of the migrants.
