    Bangla Road image
Adjacent to Patong Beach, this buzzing and vibrant strip is a great place to start your Phuket pub crawl. Enter past the iconic Patong Beach sign and prepare your senses for the neon lights, throngs of tourists and touts, street vendors selling snacks, and dance anthems pumping from the plethora of go-go bars and clubs. Those planning to partake in the evening festivities can purchase skip-the-line tickets in advance for entry to various nightclubs. Bangla Road sees dense crowds, especially during the peak holiday season in December. Park yourself at a bar, grab a beer and watch the night unfold. – Tripadvisor See more..

    Patong Beach image
Since the devastating impact of the December tsunami in 2004, I had always wanted to make a trip to Phuket as I had fond memories of the place which I visited years earlier with my office colleagues. This time, I went with my hubby and it was a refreshing experience with the crowded Patong Beach full of holiday makers on weekdays! We found a quieter beach area with clear water and fishes towards the end of Patong, nearer to Kalim beach. Weather was sunny and Thai food was good but most things were expensive in Phuket, especially the taxi to airport. We felt safer to get the hotel to book us a taxi instead of taking one from the many street taxis. We made a trip to Phuket Old Town and saw the Phuket Fantasea show at 9pm. The distinctive feature of this performance was the more than a dozen elephants on stage! Phuket is a nice getaway and we shall return for the Thai hospitality and food. See more..

    Big Buddha Phuket image
What a beautiful experience, we feel very grateful to be able to see the big Buddha up close and to have the blessing and bracelet from the monks. When we arrived it was pouring rain, thunder, lightning and then 30min later it was sunny and clear! Be sure to take covering for your shoulder and legs, but if you forget you can buy a wrap at 150 bhat each. Amazing site, you can't go to phukewithout visiting the Big Buddha See more..

    Chaithararam Temple (Wat Chalong) image
Absolutely beautiful temples and artwork. There are multiple temples and the half hour allowed on the 6 hour city tour is not adequate to see everything. A separate longer visit (60-120 minutes) is recommended to fully appreciate the splendour of the temples . See more..

    Old Phuket Town image
We decided to take a trip through Old Phuket Town. This is a relatively small area but take it slow and wander, you will find plenty of hidden gems. Once know as the Red Light District Soi Romanee is popular with its pastel coloured Sino- Portuguese houses. Apart from the amazing colourful Colonial houses you can eat your way around with some amazing street food. Street art and various murals have brightened up street corners adding a colourful character to the already charming district. A walk to explore this area is a must making it hard to put your camera away. If you love heritage & culture - Do it. See more..

Last week we went to Wat Chalong on an organised tour, but we went to this one on our own. It was amazing - we were the only ones there, apart from the cats, dogs, chickens and monks. It was so peaceful. The big temple wasn’t open but we still walked all around it and lit some incense at the shrines which were still open. Then we went up the amazing dragon stairs to the top temple which was open - complete with creepy waxwork monk (who we thought was real for a minute) and a cat asleep in the main Buddha’s lap. Really a much more special experience than the organised tour. See more..

We were unsure of what to expect given the varying reviews we read but decided to give it a shot and decide for ourselves...and we were all thrilled that we did. We chose option 2, which was the 90 minute feeding, riding and bathing option and it was such fun. Didn't see any cruelty towards the elephants at fact the guides looked after their respective animals with a lot of care. The guides themselves were a great bunch of people who added to the entire experience. One thing we did notice though was the chained monkey, which the management told us was chained due to it biting people in the past. My wife and eldest son had the time of their lives with the elephants, especially when it came time to bathe them. Definitely a day we won't forget. See more..

    Wat Khao Rang Samakkhitham image
We just got back from Phuket & spent our Christmas break there. I enjoyed this place more than The Big Buddha! I don’t understand why one review said this place is small & not worth it. WRONG! This temple is huge & totally worth the visit! For one, it was practically empty when we went, so we got to enjoy walking around without a huge crowd. This is one of the few less visited temples compared to the other more popular ones, so if you want to avoid a bigger crowd, go to this one! The intricate details on the structures & the “Gods” were impeccable!! Truly a spectacular & solemn place! See more..

    Takeoff Landing image
Firstly, most people come here for the plane spotting. Regardless which is the active runway, you'll get the experience of a close up view of the many aircraft that cycle through Phuket. With such a busy airport as Phuket, you won't need to wait long between movements. Secondly, the beach is a long sand beach, free to use, clean and fronts directly onto the Andaman Sea. Good for swimming! Thirdly, there is a small little street market at the location the little trikes can set you down, pick you up. So you can grab some cheap eats or drinks for your stay at the beach, or for your ride home after. Этот пляж популярен у российских туристов. See more..

Chinese Temple - Big Buddha image
Friday 14th February we were on a tour of the sights and Landmarks of Phuket and a visit to Big Buddha was on the itinerary. This small brightly coloured Temple is situated, on the left hand side, of the walkway leading to the Big Buddha. There are a number of golden statues lined up against a vibrant red colour wall. Worth spending a few minutes here. See more..
