Wat Pha Sorn Kaew, Phetchabun Province, Thailand

A must visit in the kao Kho area
Visited in mid July during the rainy season. Do go early in the morning to avoid crowds. Wear slippers or any footwear that are easy to take off since you will be required to remove your footwear at the entrance. There’re certain rules to follow for the ladies such as no showing of shoulders and midriff. No shorts and skirts must go over the kneecaps. No showing of cleavage either. This temple is worth the effort with spectacular scenery. Highly recommended. It’s better than most of the temples in other areas of Thailand in my opinion.

Buddhaworld split personality
It's beautiful, it's imaginative, it's in a wonderful mountain setting and it's compassionate but it's also a commercial theme park. Seems most Thais approach their worship on a surface level in my opinion. For many it's about good luck, getting money but certainly about self. For a westerner it's a bit like going to a cross between a psychic fair and a theme park but it's a must see and there is a spirit of place happening.. You could be influenced in a spiritual way if you can reconcile the noise of the crowds of Thai tourists either strolling around on an outing or enacting the obligatory ritual steps. It's ever expanding; seems they want to put a giant reclining Buddha on the roof of a building that looks like a hotel and for that, they need money.

Beautiful place for a temple
This is a beautiful Buddhist temple placed in an absolutely gorgeous spot. Stunning views for sunrise and sunset alike. Cafes and restaurants with tasty Thai food in the vicinity. Little bit over-crowded, but I assume we came on a very busy day during Thai public holidays. I will come again rather on a regular week day as we could hardly find a spot for our car.
