    Breathtaking Collection
This museum is actually one of the main reasons for me wanting to visit Philly, and it was definitely my favorite part of the trip. I've known about it for many years as it houses my favorite car of all time, only five of which were ever made, but I was actually shocked at the vast number of extremely rare and historically significant race cars the collection is comprised of. I only really knew two of the cars displayed here ahead of time from other sources, I didn't even check their website beforehand as I figured I'd keep the rest a surprise, and I certainly was not disappointed. These are cars you'll likely only ever see once in your lifetime, that's how rare many of them are. The setup here is great, each car has its own plaque with a bit of history about it as well as some specs and other interesting facts. I feel so fortunate to have been given the opportunity to actually see these rare cars in person with my own two eyes. I'd like to take this time to thank Dr. Simeone for creating this foundation to publicly display these legendary, historic cars from his own personal collection for all to see, rather than keeping them hidden away as most collectors do.

    The Thrill of Racing.
In order to explore the 70 plus sport and racing car museum thoroughly, it may help to have a mechanic, mechanical engineer and/or race car enthusiast with you. Then the visit is truly interesting. Along the rows of cars, explanation and data placards are in front of each car and are printed large enough to read easily. Plus, there were videos scattered throughout the museum on various cars. A not to be missed video is about Enzo Ferrari currently shown in the museum’s annex. It makes the film “Ford vs Ferrari” more understandable. The videos are changed periodically. Among many other excellence awards, the British car magazine “Octane” has voted this museum’s racing car collection #1 in the world in 2011 and 2017. It’s enjoyable to see and inspect these vehicles up close but how do they run and sound? Demonstration days are usually held twice a month on Saturdays at noon such as the June 27, 2020 event “The Simeone cars that raced at La Mans”. As Fred Simeone, the museum owner, once said “it is not just the mechanics of the machine…but what it has experienced.” Tours? Unfortunately, there are only group tours available but there are knowledgeable attendants on the floor that will answer any of your burning questions. Free parking is provided on the adjoining lot.
