One of the best Segway tours we've taken

My wife and I have been on many Segway tours on our trips. This tour rates right up there as one of the best, most professional, and very informative. First of all, Al did an amazing job as our safety person. He was very attentive and kept a close eye on everyone in the group in order to keep us all safe as we had to cross some Gettysburg streets. He brought some snacks and water for the group, which we all enjoyed. Our resident historian, Joe, blew us away with his deep knowledge of all the Gettysburg battles. Such a nice and caring man, which made it very easy to ask all the questions we had. The way he told of the battles was like being taken back in time. This is a top notch professional business. You won't be disappointed if you reserve your spot

Easier than I thought, and a whole lot of fun
Never having ridden a Segway before I was a little apprehensive as to whether I would be able to ride one well enough to see the battlefield. It turned out to be fairly easy to learn the rudiments. Megan, set up my ride, Tammany, for me. (All the machines are named for horses on the field during the battle. I did not think it was very auspicious to be given the horse that general Sickles was riding when he had his leg blown off by cannon fire!). After 10 minutes or so of practice riding around a little obstacle course in the lobby of the building, up and down ramps, sharp turns, starts and stops, bumpy surfaces, Megan pronounced me ready for the road. I was provided with a radio receiver and earpiece so I could hear our Licensed Battlefield Guide, Joe Mieczkowski, provide the audio as we rode the route. With Megan leading our flock of Segway riders and Joe bringing up the sweep position in the rear, we headed out the door and into the town. It was so much fun. Joe was quite the dramatic narrator. He provided a lot of color to his description of the battle, even singing “Dixie” and the Battle Hymn of the Republic for us. We saw just about every important location in the western battlefield. We made a few stops to walk around some of the locations, but mostly we slowly cruised along looking and listening. A nice surprise at the halfway point was a tour company provided selection of sweet or savory snacks. (Cheese and chocolate). I had done the full day Gettysbike tour the day prior to the Segway tour. The two tours, I think, were very complementary. Some overlap of the Battlefield locations, but from a different perspective.
