Don't be late for the trolley!
I spent a few hours at the Trolley Museum on a Sunday and did not leave disappointed. I've always loved watching trains, and riding the occasional trolley or subway. I wasn't sure what to expect at the Trolley Museum, but feel it was a nice way to spend a few hours learning about these people movers and the history of how they've changed over the decades. Driving from Pittsburgh, the Museum is very easy to find from the first sign on 79 S to the signs leading you right into the parking lot which has plenty of room for parking. The first part of my trolley ride was on a Philadelphia & West Chester Traction Co #78 which wound it's way around the museum grounds on a nice, relaxing ride. The second part of the trolley ride was on a New Orleans Public Service 832 which stopped at buildings that housed the extensive collection of trolleys. The men that operated the two trolleys were full of information, and took time to answer questions before getting everyone safely back to the entrance area of the Museum. Definitely a great place for families with children to enjoy learning and experiencing trolleys. It's also a nice place to visit if you're a railfan who appreciates anything that runs on tracks, or just someone reliving memories of years gone by. Gift shop is full of books, toys and items related to trolleys.

    Well worth the trip
The trolley museum is mostly run by volunteers and they are dedicated and very knowledgeable. There is a small exhibit with hands on toys for the kids and they can even try to drive a streetcar using the simulator. We got to ride two different streetcars and had a tour of the trolley museum. A fun place to visit.
