Always A Winner
We are members of the museum so this was a return visit. We had not returned since they moved the Sphinx and worked on that floor of the museum. While that part did not disappoint, revisiting the museum as a whole was the highlight. We have yet to really “see” everything in the museum and we love looking at things with a new perspective. They had some fun activities going on for families as well as the guides who spoke about the artifacts. Since I have been there last my mobility has become an issue and I was really concerned about getting into the museum from the parking garage. I called and they told me where we could pull up so my husband could drop me off at the door. The only thing I could ask for and perhaps they already have it, but I wish they had a couple of those scooters. I saw they had a few wheelchairs but I didn’t see anything else. The museum is so large we would stay much longer if I could navigate around.

Penn Museum
I expected it to be a good museum as I knew that it was home to the sibling of the Ram in a Thicket from the British museum but it exceeded my expectations. The Sumerian collection is their obvious forte, one of the most extensive I've seen, with some artifacts dating back to 6th millennium BC and objects from the royal burial of Ur. Also their Etruscan rooms and Canaan and Ancient Israel collections are terrific.
