Fun Museum Designed For The Whole Family
This is a relatively new museum that preserves Pennsylvania's heritage of the famed Lincoln Highway. Tour starts off with a short documentary introducing those unfamiliar with the road's fame. Then its off through the rooms of the stone portion of the home, with exhibits on roadside attractions that once stood like the Ship Hotel. A cool display covers the military history of the road, particular Eisenhower's involvement. A modern addition houses the restored diner and a few other big pieces. Although the admission appears high, understand you are gaining access to the museum, use of its audio tour, and your choice of beverage & pie in the diner. No fault of the museum, but those outside of the area be aware it its a bit tricky to get to. The museum is located on the eastbound lanes of Route 30. If you are heading east toward Ligonier, you should have no issues. But if you are heading west, proceed west through Kingston and to the outskirts of Latrobe's shopping district. There is a turnaround to cross into the eastbound lanes shortly after crossing the Loyalhanna Creek in Latrobe.

    Worth the Stop.
This was a fun trip back in time. Interesting displays and a good film. The two women working there were friendly and good humored. The experience ends in a renovated and lovely old-fashioned diner with pie and coffee (tea or water). And the pie was delicious! I believe they also host events on the grounds that are open to the public.
