Amazing glass tile work!

The history of world religions comes to life through this museum's extensive collection of art and artifacts from different cultures and time periods. Glencairn was once the home of Raymond and Mildred Pitcairn. It was built between 1928 and 1939. Glencairn became a museum after the death of Mildred Pitcairn in 1979. Glencairn Museum is currently undergoing a comprehensive infrastructure replacement project. The next phase of the project requires that the Museum be temporarily closed to the public for approximately 18 months, beginning Saturday, April 30, 2022. A FREE cell phone tour of Glencairn's exterior is available.

    Amazing glass tile work!
If you go for nothing else, go to see the incredible wall and ceiling art installed with glass tiles which were made on site. Hubby and I took the very inexpensive, $10 pp, 90-minute tour of the castle/museum and enjoyed it quite a bit. There is an elevator the guide used to transport us between floors, which I was so grateful to have. The house is very well maintained and an architectural wonder. Go online to reserve your timed tour ticket so you don’t miss out. We will return to visit the other mansion on the property and the cathedral, or perhaps to attend on of the many events open to the public.

    Pitcairn home
Never knew this existed. Gorgeous stonework buildings just 20 miles north of Philly. 2 beautiful houses and a cathedral. Pitcairn family homestead. History, museum, and Christmas nativities were on display. Spent about 3 hours. Time went really fast.
