Beautiful!
We did the 5.5 mile walk as listed on Let’s Go Peak District. The walk was very enjoyable and the views are stunning! We parked at the Fairholmes Visitor Centre which is £5 all day - there are also toilets here and a cafe hut selling drinks and food. You can also hire bikes. We arrived around 8.30am, which I would recommend as it was so busy by the time we returned and parking had become quite limited.

Lovely cycle around the reservoirs
Loved our visit here We cycled around the route and despite it being half term and lovely weather we didn’t find it too busy on the pathways. The plug holes weren’t open when we visited but we still found the area amazing. We didn’t use the cafe at the visitor centre on this occasion as it was busy but it seemed well priced.

Lovely stroll
Lovely stroll across part of lady bower. Weather was a bit hit and miss but didn’t spoil our walk. If you’re going to see the dam and the ‘plug hole’ I recommend parking at Heatherdene car park, costs £3 for the day and good toilet facilities as well. The visitors center is further away and unless you’re going to walk around the whole reservoir I believe it’s too far away from the main part. Lovely pub just up the road for refreshments as well
