This bridge is the original Coldwater Covered Bridge. My Great Grandmother lived close to this bridge when it was in it's original location.

    Anniversary getaway
Nice quick stop. The park is beautiful with a nice lake. The covered bridge was very historic. The city should not allow the graffiti inside of the bridge.

Oldest Covered Bridge in AL - An Easy/Quick Interstate Stop
Coldwater Covered Bridge is the oldest covered bridge in Alabama. It has been moved to a pretty park that's just off I-20 in Oxford, AL. A pretty, relatively short bridge, which you can walk across - offering a nice opportunity to check out the bridge's architecture. If you're traveling I-20, it's a great quick stop. It would be a beautiful picnic location or just a nice opportunity to stretch your legs. (There is no charge.) If you're a fan of covered bridges, Coldwater Covered Bridge is a great jumping off point for a small covered bridge tour through central Alabama. After visiting Coldwater Bridge, you can head south on AL-21 to Waldo/Riddle's Mill Covered Bridge, about 25 minutes south. Then over to Kymulga Covered Bridge. Directions: Exit 185 off I-20 onto State Highway 21 North (Oxford/Anniston exit) and take the immediate right onto Recreational Drive. Follow the drive around to the Oxford Civic Center Parking lot and you will see the park and bridge. A very short, easy walk to the bridge.
