Great place to enjoy art
This castle is part of the Fundatie Museum with its main building in Zwolle, the one with the blue sparkly egg on top. Kasteel het Nijenhuis has character, fine art and lots of sculptures in the garden. The Hannema lunch place is great too!

Authentic and very scenic
Nijenhuis castle is an authentic originally 14th century castle with later extensions. It has a moat and an extensive garden. The castle is now in use as museum the Fundatie with the collection of Dirk Hannema, the 20th century collector and museum director. Plus regularly temporary exhibitions. The garden is a very attractive sculpture garden. There is also a coffee/lunch café inside.

Nice stroll across the grounds
Relaxing walk on the castle grounds with a large exhibit of sculptures to keep us busy. The employees were very friendly & approachable. Great (learning) value for money.
