Lovely tour
We had booked a tour for 75 minutes and we enjoyed it. Lovely staff, pretty boats and they tell you a lot about giethoorn! I would definetly recommend.

Bevor you start on foot - take that tour by boat!
This town Giethoorn is somewhat unreal - you think you arrived at a miniature park with tiny "Grachten" and little wooden bridges everywhere - I was told they have over 300 - now wonder this town is called the Dutch Venice! I good idea to get an idea about what to see and were to go for some nice pictures is this little cruise. Takes about an hours and you will love it if you like those Dutch houses with thatched roofs, beautiful flowerbeds and such.

Great two hour tour
The boat starts around the town from the restaurant (that I would also recommend). Great views and an entertaining dry commentary from our Captain. Lots of photos en route. It then heads out across the lake and into the nature reserve with views of deer chasing across the wetlands and lots of geese, ducks and heron. All rather picturesque and definitely warmer than taking yourself out in a smaller boat. It was windy and ffff-freezing at times. They have a well stocked fridge that didn't do much trade when we went.
