Bibliotheek Almelo, Overijssel Province, The Netherlands

Membership is not free!

This library is in a modern-looking building with several floors. The children's book section looks quite nice. They do also have books in other languages. There is a long reading table near to the entrance door where the public can sit and read a newspaper. There are a selection of newspapers to choose from. You can sit here and read a paper for free, but if you want to borrow books from the library, then that is NOT free. You have to pay a yearly subscription, although I believe it is free for children. So, I am not a member, even though I am an avid book reader. I just cannot afford the fees. But for those who can afford to pay, then it is a pleasant library with a nice quiet atmosphere. It has a restaurant inside called "Café de Meridiaan", which is very nice, although a large milky coffee is not cheap!
