Small and nice

Really small museum but in 3 floors. NIce personell and very blanced and good exhibitions. In city center.

Nice small museum
A museum that used to be the home of an art collector. Located in an art nouveau building. Collection put together with good taste, contains works by some big names like Matisse and Picasso, but many lesser known yet good artists as well. Upstairs showcases some rooms that are in the form they used to be in times gone by, also interesting to see. Good catalogues in each room of the museum. Vaasa has several good museums, along with Pohjanmaan museo I liked this one a lot. Kunstin taidemuseo, that exhibits modern art, was less to my liking -- a bit too modern for me.

Go for the paintings
Just to see the house is worth the visit itself. The art collection is varied and impressive, there was also a nice exhibition on the top floor about the collectors. Probably the least friendly staff I have met in any museum/gallery. Perhaps they were not expecting any visitors?!
